“The example we talked about most frequently in the writers’ room was that of Cortez burning his ships when he got to the New World as a way of making sure his men had no choice but to go forward and wouldn’t be tempted to change their minds or go back. That’s a really interesting way to take it that I hadn’t considered. I wouldn’t blame large portions of the crew being willing to go along with this plan, but the entire fleet? Two things get missed in the major objections to a supreme being (intentionally not capitalized out of respect to our Atheist friends): 1. with me again, and that she didn’t Zeus even goes to Olympus with Roslyn. American networks have hitherto been more concerned with 20+ episode seasons and flogging a show for as long as they can. The above influx of spam is a very strange development in the rich and varied legacy of this 10 year old comment section….
I remember after season 3,I was blown away, and I thought this would be one of the best shows,I have ever seen, but I had the ending to get to,and when I did,I was not impressed. It looks, feels and handles somewhat realistic for most of the time, but the “pantheon in heaven” watches over it day and night and plausibility may leave the room the second the script writer sees fit. Ron Moore totally nailed it ‘for me’.
At the end of the TV show, two of the main characters end up (again by emergency use of a teleport device) transported to a Golgafrinchan starship that crashes into prehistoric Earth where we have the same situation – a spacefaring civilisation and natives. I just finished the series and my wife is tired of me trying to explain it to her over dinner. Right from the beginning questions were raised, intrigues and mysteries created a fascinating field for both mental and physical controversies, while every episode renewed promises of well-founded, innovative plotlines. The other part of your question is “why *everyone*”.
My oldest son (16) and I have been re-watching it, and usually for days after are in discussion about the social and spiritual issues brought up in the course of the show. However, when I saw the Matrix I was angry that the saviour had to be a young good looking man and Trinity his sidekick was there for him. I was surprised to learn that people didn’t like the BSG wrap ups. This explains why the constellations are the same between the two “earths” and why evil cylons will never find them.
Apollo, frankly, became intermittently annoying to me starting in Season 3. Plausible, but weird, which is still perfectly acceptable, but the frustrating thing is that it seems like the show’s creators didn’t know what Head Six was anymore than the audience did until pretty close to the end. I think you are thinking of worm holes. ALL ON THE 13 TH COLONY THE FIRST EARTH. That really upset me somehow, and I found it really difficult to accept that there really is no possibility of a spin-off sequel, only prequels (which seem to get cancelled anyway). It’s a fictional tv show, it’s not like they were trying to lay out a scientific theory for the beginning of civilization on Earth. And when the first earth is discovered, they do show North America, so obviously the new earth is either an exact copy or it is a different time period/ alternative universe. Strange feeling. I certainly agree that trying to connect the world of BSG as a precursor to our own is one of the biggest problems with the finale. Problems abound, inconsistencies galore, questions remain unanswered.
Actually I hate sci-fi, especially on TV, and BSG is the only genre show that I really liked. We still have no real idea how old our planet is.
Battlestar Galactica Trilogy: The Cyclons' Secret, ... - Page 588 For me, there were no unanswered questions. Carbon dating is unreliable at best. This piece truly did switch the light on for me personally as far as this particular subject matter goes. It is named after the Leo tribe who resided on Kobol, though its citizens may not have been affiliated with that tribe. But you know what⦠so it goes. From something of a mechanical point, I can accept the show’s creators not telling us what Starbuck is, but at the same time, they shouldn’t have made it one of the season’s, and for that matter the show’s, big mysteries, and telegraphed the question so much if they had no intention of answering it. Yea, thanks for a more acceptable ending… i agree, Kara was either Daniel or his daughter in my eyes.. only way to explain the ‘song’, the art, the ‘visions or insights’ and the resurrection… and they didn’t send the ships to the sun either, but set up communities based on agreement of the remaining 40,000 (counting rebel Cylons) … who got on with being people, really looking at how to make their world a better place, evolving not de-evolving, being responsible, loving and taking some good lessons from the rebels who knew that hatred, retaliation were out and love, sharing and moving forward was in. As soon as the credits hit, I googled and Wiki’d if I was the only one who hated but, after reading around, I can clearly see I’m not the only one.
No forgiveness there. The Colonial diet during the last one and a half seasons was mostly processed algae, plus whatever their agro ship was able to produce. I just got done watching series, and I think season 4 was my least favorite. It had alot of unnecessary shit going on like, saul getting a 6 pregnant then her losing the baby,I was like what the fuck was that for?? They had ideas, sure, but no solid idea. How strange. Couldn’t some colonists still live on the 12 colonies, i remote forests, caves, or whatever? I’m also a big Star Trek fan, so I suppose I can tolerate that kind of cheesiness, heh. decision, and she never wanted to

So when we came to the end of 4.5 I felt very let down. He goes to the mountains. It would be interesting if they were both just some sort of super-advanced machines. Starbuck is the first female in film or TV to be a Saviour. Thank you for the kind words about the blog! Really, really disappointed with the writing. ME is a scientific concept, by the way. Yes they are still out there but there was little choice about whether or not they would settle on this new planet. - It does seem odd that Adama would essentially abandon all contact his son. 2/3rds of the human race has this and it’s about 90 per cent compatible with ‘most’ but not all, other blood types. I always have some frustration with an ambiguous ending. I was actually digging the episode in terms of the space battle but to me it started to fall apart right around the time that the ‘Opera House Vision’ was coming true. All in all there are worst ways to kill time, so give it a go I say. I’ve been putting it off for some time, but Hobbs is right.
